Friland gehört zur Danish Crown Gruppe. Ausgangspunkt der 1992 aufgenommenen Bioproduktion ist die artgerechte Tierhaltung. Unter der eigenen Marke stellt man ionzwischen Bio-Schweine- und -Rindfleisch-Produkte her. Hinter Friland stehen 1 400 Landwirte, die die Firma, die heute 80% des dänischen Marktes hält, beliefern. Außerdem exportiert Friland nach USA, Japan, Korea und in die europäischen Staaten.

Friland is part of the Danish Crown group. Since 1992 Friland has engaged itself in the processing of Organic and Free Range meat with a clear focus on animal welfare. Friland Organic is the company's brand for organic beef and organic pork. All livestock derives from Danish farmers authorized and controlled by the Danish Plant Directorate. 

Their success in the market is due to the fact that 1400 farmers supplying to Friland A/S produce quality products with regard for the environment and the welfare of the animals. Standards for most
of their branded meat products are set up in a close co-operation between Friland A/S and The Danish Animal Welfare Society. Friland has been exporting since 1995, and they are now the largest wholesaler in Europe of organic pork and beef. They export to the USA, Japan, Korea and several European countries, and their market share is 80 per cent of organic sales of pork and beef to the Danish market.
